Branscome Completes Median Rail Relocation Project

In 2009, Branscome completed the Commonwealth Railway Mainline Safety Relocation Project (CRMSRP), also known as the Median Rail Relocation Project.  This $60M design/build project consisted of the relocation of 4.5 miles of the West Norfolk Spur of the Commonwealth Rail Line.  The existing rail line was relocated to the median of the Western Freeway (Route 164) and Interstate 664 through the cities of Chesapeake and Portsmouth.

Peninsula Town Center Completed

Completed in 2009, the Peninsula Town Center Project consisted of demolishing the existing Coliseum Mall and constructing a Town Center on the 100-acre site. The owners of the project were Mall Properties who owned the Coliseum Mall, and Steiner and Associates who is the nation’s leader in mixed-use developments. The Peninsula Town Center was built to rejuvenate the Hampton Market, and add new excitement to the Hampton Roads area. The town center has many intriguing resources such as retail stores, event parks, cinemas, restaurants, office buildings, and residential condos all in one central location.

RMA Powhite Parkway Nears Completion

Rush-hour backups will be a thing of the past for the 100,000 commuter vehicles that use the RMA Toll Road every day. Branscome has been working on this project and expects final completion in September.

CRMSRP Full Steam Ahead

The Mainline Safety Relocation Project is the first of its kind for Branscome Companies. The purpose of this project is to relocate the existing Commonwealth Railway rail line from residential neighborhoods in Portsmouth and Chesapeake to the roadway medians of Route 164 (Western Freeway) and Interstate 664.

Branscome builds New Canon Plant

Branscome has been selected as the site developer of choice for the new Canon manufacturing plant expansion in Newport News, Virginia. The proposed 700,000 square foot facility, located in the Oyster Point Industrial Park, is one of the largest economic development announcements in recent history, surpassing the newly constructed APM Terminals cargo facility opened in Portsmouth last year.
