The resurfacing of Mercury Boulevard was an ARRA Stimulus Project for the City of Hampton. The primary project requirement was asphalt paving of approximately 3.43 miles of Mercury Boulevard from Coliseum Drive to King Street and from the Newport News City Limits to Big Bethel Road. Additional tasks included loops, saw cutting, striping, and milling. This project was completed in the Fall of 2010. Making this project especially challenging was the dense urban environment where the construction took place. Ensuring safety and efficient delivery while managing dense traffic loads took constant diligence from our project management and safety teams. The completed project is incredibly smooth and offers a fantastic ride.

Newport News Shipyard Parking Improvements |
Sunday, 05 December 2010 14:23 |
Branscome is currently working on a project to improve the parking areas and access roads for Northrop Grumman's Newport News Shipyard. These improvements will allow shipyard workers to more easily come and go from the facility as well as improving the overall safety. Branscome will be providing the asphalt paving on this project. A strong and reliable pavement layer is essential due to the vast amounts of traffic that enter and exit the parking area every day. The Newport News Shipyard is one of the marquee manufacturing centers of Hampton Roads and an essential piece of our region's economy. As such, we are extremely honored to be able to support their efforts to keep our economy strong. |
