Branscome has the capabilities needed to complete any type of paving job, no matter how big or small.

Our asphalt is extremely cost-effective, in part because of the location of our asphalt plants. Strategically located in Chesapeake, Hampton, James City County, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Richmond, Suffolk, and on the Eastern Shore, Branscome's asphalt plants are capable of supplying hot-mix asphalt to all of our paving crews within the region. With less distance between our plants and our job sites, our clients discover significant savings.

Branscome also stands by the quality of our asphalt. Our multi-million dollar, 16-person lab constantly tests the properties in each batch of asphalt sent out, checking to make sure each one reaches the same high quality. Engineers also analyze multiple soil samples from each site in order to determine the proper formula and materials.

To ensure quality, each of our plants produces the specific grade of asphalt recommended by VDOT or the Federal Aviation Administration for the type of work being done. Each batch of asphalt is scientifically calculated based on the type of job: highways, interstates, secondary roads, parking lots, airport runways, distribution centers and shipping terminals.

Branscome also has demolition capabilities as well as an extensive asphalt-recycling program, which greatly reduces the environmental impact of our work. Every year, we recycle approximately a half-million tons of old asphalt - breaking the material down and turning it into strong, smooth new parking lots and roads.

The Cutting Edge: Roller-Compacted Concrete.

Branscome's Paving Division now has the ability to lay roller-compacted concrete (RCC), an economical, industrial-strength pavement that dries quickly and is easy to maintain. This type of pavement is placed with state-of-the-art asphalt paving equipment, then compacted with roller equipment. It is highly durable, even under extreme temperatures and heavy loads.
